Lady Gaga is preparing to deliver an out-of-this-world performance the year after next. The ARTPOP singer will take her act to the cosmos in 2015.
The "Dope" performer, 27, will blast off in a Virgin Galactic ship and belt out a single track during the Zero G Colony high-tech musical festival in New Mexico.
Yes, she'll be performing live on a shuttle from outer space. Cue the obligatory "can we leave her there" jokes from the celebrity gossip peanut gallery.
"She has to do a month of vocal training because of the atmosphere," says a source, who adds that the diva's glam squad will join her in the shuttle.
Zero G Colony is a three-day event set to take place at New Mexico's Spaceport America, featuring world-class entertainment and cutting-edge technology.
Gaga's space performance is planned to take place on the third day at dawn, approximately six months after the first Virgin Galactic commercial flight.
No word on what track she plans to perform, or how "Applause" sounds in zero gravity ... but you know she will pull out all the stops for a stunt like this.
A source says the historic show will be "like nothing the world has seen before." That is quite literally true, as it is obviously a first. Think she's nervous?
Just in case, Gaga, who parted ways with manager Troy Carter earlier this week after six years together, "has taken out a ridiculous life insurance policy!"
