Well, we were wrong.
It does get more offensive than dressing your seven-year old as a KKK member or going trick-or-treating as a Boston Marathon bombing victim.
Two 19-year olds from Great Britain, Amber Langford and Annie Collinge, attended a costume party at Rosie's nightclub in Chester last Thursday night and were decked out as the North Tower and the South Tower on 9/11.
And that may not even be the worst part of this story...
The equally disheartening tidbit? The women won the establishment's award for Best Dressed.
As you might expect, wearing a burning Twin Towers costume created quite the uproar outside of the club, as Liz Gilligan spoke for all sane-minded individuals when speaking to The Chester Chronicle.
âI can't begin to tell you how angry and disgusted I am," said the widow of a 9/11 victim.
"To say I'm shocked and upset is an under statement. These girls and Rosieâs need to be made aware that 9/11 was very real and while it was 3,000 miles away, it affected people on their door step. I will be contacting Chester University where these girls attend and want a public apology.â
Not much else can really be said, except this:
Does it get any more offensive than dressing as the burning Twin Towers on Halloween?
