We were wrong. It turns out there is something cuter than a puppy playing with a baby:

In a ridiculously adorable photo posted to Reddit, user "jpdisco" has given us a look at his canine paying very close attention to his newborn, writing along with the image:
"We were a bit worried how the dog would react [to our first child] when we got home. Needless to say, she digs him."
Seriously. Are those tears forming in the dog's eyes even?!? Amazing.
