Miley Cyrus has another supporter in her corner.
As the 20-year old artist continues to duke it out with Sinead O'Connor online - the Irish artist most recently threatened to sue Miley for remarks about O'Connor's mental stability - Cyrus can at least take solace that Demi Lovato isn't going anywhere.
She's right there by Miley's side.
"I've said this a million times, I know Britney and Miley very well," The X Factor judge said today in an interview with Fox.
"Miley has been one of my best friends growing up and so I'm happy for her. She's doing what she wants to do and this is her time to break out and figure out what she wants to do in her career and her image and everything."
Lovato didn't comment on any of Miley's more raunchy antics - like her latest NSFW spread with Terry Richardson - but she added in general:
"I'm happy seeing her happy because I love her so much. And, you know, she doesn't care what people think, nor should she."
She certainly should not from a business point of view: Wrecking Ball has become Miley's first-ever number-one single and pre-sales of her upcoming album are very strong.
"I love her to death," Lovato told MTV in an earlier interview. "And I'm always like, 'Just be careful.' And she's like, 'Dude, I'm chilling. It's fine.' I care for her so much [that] I'm so protective, but she's good. She's got a good head on her shoulders."
