With Charlie Hunnam out of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, attention has turned to his would-be co-star Dakota Johnson and whether she will stay on.
Dakota Johnson is said to be worried about her job security after struggling with the pressure of taking on such a high profile project in the first place.
Insiders have insisted that studio executives are completely behind her, and that “Dakota earned the role and she shouldn’t be worried right now."
"The only time she will have to worry, if at all, is if they hire someone that has no chemistry with her, but they are casting the actor with her in mind.â€
However, other sources suggest the actress may also be looking to exit the role.
"Dakota is having a very hard time dealing with all the press," a source said.
"When she first got the role, it was way too much for her," the insider said, "everyone wants a piece of her," as they said; "It's been tough [for Dakota]."
In a statement, Universal Pictures said: "The filmmakers of 'Fifty Shades of Grey and Charlie Hunnam have agreed to find another male lead."
The 33-year-old actor's "immersive TV schedule" is "not allowing him time to adequately prepare for the role of Christian Grey," the studio said.
Despite Charlie Hunnam dropping out, allegedly due to scheduling constraints but more likely due to cold feet, Dakota will likely stay if she wants to.
Producers love her as Anastasia Steele and are re-casting Christian Grey with whoever has the best chemistry with Dakota, another insider shared.
The first name rumored to be that person? Jamie Dornan.
If Johnson, 23, were to be replaced, it would likely cause major production delays. The film is reportedly set for release (!) in less than 10 months.
