Matthew Schuler wowed the audience with his "Wrecking Ball" cover on The Voice last night, cementing his status as one of the favorites to win Season 5.
Combined with Jacquie Lee, Matthew gives his coach, Christina Aguilera, two legitimate chances to claim her first title in the NBC show's history.
Watch his rendition of Miley Cyrus' hit song (seriously) and you'll see why:
Matthew Schuler already owns the title of fastest four-chair turn in five seasons of The Voice, so it's hardly a surprise that he's in the top 20 this fall.
His attention-grabbing vocals command the room whenever he performs. Simply put, he's the kind of talent that puts the rest of the field on notice.
With range and boundless potential, he may not have yet approached the limit of his ability. Bad news for anyone else looking to be named The Voice.
What do you think? Is Schuler worthy of all the hype? Or overrated? Share your comments below on the current season and who you think will reign.
