Ben Foster to Play Lance Armstrong: A Good Choice?

Ben Foster to Play Lance Armstrong: A Good Choice?

It hasn't exactly received the same press as the Fifty Shades of Grey casting search, but Hollywood has finally found an actor to portray Lance Armstrong.

Deadline confirms that Ben Foster (3:10 to Yuma, The Messenger, The Mechanic) will play this disgraced cyclist in an unnamed project to be directed by Stephen Frears.

It will begin production on October 18 and also feature Chris O’Dowd, Guillaume Canet and Jesse Plemons in supporting roles.

Armstrong, of course, is a testicular cancer survivor who won a record seven Tour de France titles.

But he lied for years and years about taking performance-enhancing drugs until the evidence mounted and he finally admitted the truth to Oprah:

Yes, he took steroids and, yes, he's pretty much an immoral, dishonest, accusatory, insecure, angry A-Hole.

Is Ben Foster a good choice to take on this real-life role?
